Seasame Treat

I was at the pantry on Monday and ran into a colleague.  She was busy preparing her bread spread when I spotted this japanese label on the bottle that she was holding.  What's that, I asked her.  She told me it is black seasame paste spread.  Then she went on to spread that black thingy onto her bread.

For a long time, I had heard the goodness of black seasame to dark shiny hair. In my heart, I was already thinking, how on earth she found this interesting stuff.  My hubby has been so sick of the magarine each morning and I had been searching for ages for a better alternative.

Is Watching TV Really More Harmful Than Beneficial For Your Baby?

With more and more videos for babies being produced and the sudden influx of new TV channels aimed at preschoolers, parents are once again asking "should I really let my child watch television?"

My baby Samson started watching TV at 6 months old with incredibly long attention span (an awesome hour!). I bet many of you would have screamed at me "YOU TERRIBLE MOTHER"!  I can't help it.  He is an active baby and when I played the babysongs, that's the only time I can get some quiet moment for myself while he enjoys.

Is watching TV really more harmful than beneficial for your baby?

There are two school of thoughts.

One says that babies under two years of age should not be allowed to watch any TV; the other says that limited amounts of high-quality educational TV accompanied by adult interaction are fine - and may even be beneficial. When DVDs are used correctly, the repetition and familiarity they provide can actually aid learning.

Go on a reading adventure with Storylands

Storylands - an early years reading adventure series

The Storylands website is designed as a series of online lands where children go to read each of the three collections in the series, Clinker Castle, Lost Island and Pirate Cove. Sticking with the idea of lands, the homepage directs readers to choose the Storyland they wish to read and takes them to a destination where they can read the book online and then play a series of activities and games associated with each title. The look and feel is designed to appeal to children aged 4-7 and navigation is kept simple.
