ArtScience Museum transforms into an animated menagerie this June

Kick off the school holidays this June at Singapore’s largest digital art exhibition Future World: Where Art Meets Science, as it transforms into an animated menagerie with the launch of its new installation ‘Graffiti Nature’.

This is the newest work yet developed by art collective teamLab. Within this landmark new attraction, visitors will be able to let their imagination run wild as they draw their own crocodiles, butterflies, and turtles and see them come alive and roam freely in the museum gallery. The work is shown for the first time in the world at ArtScience Museum, and features an entire ecosystem of animals, flowers and butterflies that move freely within the exhibition space.

To celebrate the arrival of ‘Graffiti Nature’, ArtScience Museum has also specially programmed a season of animal-themed projects for the school holidays this June. Young visitors can go on a treasure hunt through the museum searching for animal-related exhibits, take part in creative aquarium workshops, and enjoy free animal-themed film screenings at ArtScience on Screen.

Families and young children alike can also be immersed in a fun-filled day at the museum with drop-in paper craft activities, creative workshops, and hands-on demonstrations happening through the holidays.

Comprising an original soundtrack by Phillip Glass, the film will resonate with viewers emotionally to inspire a sense of connectedness with the animal kingdom.

This Academy Award nominated family drama from New Zealand combines the magnificence of nature, with cultural heritage. Set in the East Coast town of Whāngārā, Whale Rider tells the moving tale of a young Māori girl who challenges tradition and embraces nature in order to find the strength to lead her people forward.
