"Growing Books" Pain - DIY to the Rescue

Shelves and storage never seem to be enough in my household.  Perhaps this is the woes of a shopping queen.  Nevertheless I like to share some of my solutions which I have as tips for parents facing the same problem.

As usual I was out hunting for a suitable bookself which I already had 2 at home to store our books.  After a thorough search with my personal favourite store, I realised that it would be a never-ending search.  With that I went to a household name store to find the simplest design shelf and in the end, my result was zilch.  However, I found this!

Yes it is a shoe rack and I bought the 4-tier one after much bargaining as an "auntie". The original colour is walnut(colour in the picture above) which does not suit my needs.   Then I set out to HomeFix to get white paint(for base coat) and lily white paint and transformed it into my customised bookshelf as follows with some decorative ornaments(closeup) on it.

Ta Da!!!!!!

Hope you find this tip useful and try D-I-Y.   The D-I-Y is not to get a cheaper solution as it still costs me about $60 but my benefit is in getting something that I want exactly and this is hard to search in the marketplace.
