2010 Singapore Primary Schools Ranked By Parental Loyalty
So which are the schools that parents keep sending their kids back to? The following index ranks Primary Schools based on the average Take-Up Rate (TUR) up to Phase 2A, which measures how eager parents who were ex-students or who already have kids in the schools are in sending their younger kids to the same schools. This is actually another popularity measurement, since the schools which will NOT have many places left for “outsiders” are also those with the most loyal parents.
Also, note that new schools will be most likely ranked lower in this index due to the lack of a large alumni community.

hi Gomuji
All schools follow the same MOE Primary School Registration.
Schools do not place any cap on phases up to and inclusive of phase 2A2. Any balance vacancies after phase 2A2 is then splits 50:50 between phase 2B and phase 2C. Any balance from phase 2B will go into phase 2C.
just wondering if there is a practice of the school...
I am curious if the TUR in some school has anything to do with the policy of the school to make a deliberate choice to place a cap of 50% up to phase 2A.
Could it be a case that the practice for some schools are such: a) priority is first given to applicants with siblings who are already in the school. b) 50% of the total remaining vacancies are for the children of ex-students of the school.
If that being the case the TUR could be 100% but the percentage of total vacancy can still be 50+%.
Parental Loyalty
Hi there,
This index is interesting.
I’m ‘guilty’…of sending my younger daugher back to my former school (Phase 2A2) since I missed the ‘deadline’ to register for alumni. Anyway, I have no time, skills nor money to offer, so it is better for me to register her under Phase 2A2.Hopefully she can get into CHIJ Toa Payoh Primary. I would love to see my little gal wearing that uniform I once wore.
