Singapore's Top Primary Schools

The Ministry of Education only provides ranking for secondary schools.  While it is felt that the same arguments for ranking secondary schools can be applied for primary schools, there are many more primary schools compared to secondary schools, and it would be counter-productive if parents choose to forego the convenience of neighbourhood schools and drive up demand for the official "good" schools.

Nonetheless, feels that parents should be allowed to make informed choices based on facts.  The dearth of reliable information on how "good" primary schools are is troubling and non-transparent.  As such we have collated a list of best performing primary schools based on published annual PSLE results since 2000.  This list is by no means an official "ranking" of primary schools - it is only an indicator of the consistency of schools in academic excellence.

While the quality of a school is not solely dependent on academic excellence, it is a very good indicator of the dedication of its staff and the quality of its students. will continuously strive to update and tag its primary school database with details of the character-building, athletic and aesthetic accomplishments of each primary school to allow parents to pin-point the most suitable school for their pre-school children.  We welcome feedback on what parents actually think about the schools.

The following pages comprise records of how Primary schools generally fared in PSLE over the past 7 years.  Readers should treat this as an indicator of academic consistency, and not as a definitive ranking of how "good" the school is.

Thank You Teck Whye Pri Sch

I would like to extend my gratitude to Teck Whye Pri Sch. My 2 children had their primary education in this school. My first child who is 15 years old now had wonderful and memorable experience in his early years. He had experienced and dedicated teachers in Teck Whye Pri Sch. He still remembered what the teachers had taught him. Every teachers that touches his life played important role in his early years. Now my son is actively involved in his sec sch choir and was choosen as choir camp commandant and leader. Thanks to Teck Whye Pri Sch who had laid down the leadership foundation in early years.

My second child who just turned 13 is in secondary school now. She was weak in Mathematics and with the teachers guidance and dedication, my child passed her PSLE Maths paper. Now she is 3rd in her class and determine to improve herself further. She had gained confidence, dedication and determination from her primary school experiences.

Besides academic achievements by my 2 children, Teck Whye Pri Sch also introduced life skill activity to the Pri 6 pupils. The school's Parent Support Group taught the pupils on how to iron their school uniform. Again I am very grateful to the School and their Parent Support Group because my daughter has been ironning her own school uniform ever since she is in secondary 1 this year. (solve 1 domestic problem)

My daughter has become passionate dancer because the sch has good cca dance program. She was one of the proud dancers in SYF 2010 when they are the only school grab Gold with Honours Award. Now my daughter is a group leader in her sec sch dance group and excelling in her cca. All these are not possible without the dedication of her primary school teachers.

Once again thank you Teck Whye Pri Sch for making a big difference in my children life.

Transfer to mee toh school from maha bodhi

hi there, i have 3 kids in MTS, but dont believe my words, you ask other parent also. Because maybe my kids sometimes not lucky, no good teacher sometimes. i am malaysian so my english is no good. but will tell you the best.

MTS got new principal, now is a man. i saw him during my daughter's p4 maths workshop. i dont find him good. maybe because miss fong (the early principal) is good. He was late for the speech that day you know.since school reopen, he asked children to stay at gate if later then 715am. very early. but my kids never later because we stay very near. but since he say cannot late, but he late 40min to speech.

last week i go meet the teacher. my p6 son's teacher very good, tell me lots of things. but my p4 daughter's teacher like very bad. she talked very loudly to me, like want to quarrel.  She said my daughter very naughty, but she is very quiet one. nevermind because maybe she is really naughty. Or maybe my english lousy so she like that to me. i have 2 children in p4, twins. the boy and girl not in same class. the other boy's teacher is ok, she got talk nicely and polite. and tell me about my son homework and test. my daughter's teacher is very scary and i dare not ask too much things. She talked loud, i just sit there. she never tell me if my daughter's work is ok or not. And I v scare to ask. Because many parents there and i scare other people can hear. I also ask her if my girl so naughty, you got punish her. she said she ask me to teach her myself. I very sad you know.

You think carefully and asked more parents can? I know got nice good teacher but got lousy one also.  my twin's p1 and p2 teachers very nice, p3 no good (she threw a boy's school bag on floor, and like to scold very loud. Got a girl want to go toilet, she said cannot). P4's teacher - 1 is nice, then 1 very fierce lor.  Also the teacher wear very short skirt in school. Very funny buddish school can like that.  my friend said got one teacher has red hair. funny or not?

my elder boy in p6 now, he is very clever and many band 1. and his teacher since p3 until now very good.  I think the teachers for good class is better. I asked my friends they also said the same. so my son is lucky because he is good in work.

actually you dont just listen to me ok. you asked other friends because i also scare give you wrong decision.

Good luck. very difficult decision. bye bye
