Petition to Review the Singapore Education System

Postby Chenonceau » Fri May 06, 2011 9:19 am

I have removed the poll because... I have moved the petition to here - http://www.petitiononline.com/SgEd2011/petition.html

I need to SHEEPISHLY request that those who have voted in the poll here, to please go and vote in the proper petition. I apologise that I didn't do this earlier and make everything inconvenient for everyone.

Special thanks to Faun, Cimman, Ksi, deminc, Chiefkiasu and QuiteKSMum for encouraging me time and again to do this properly. I have now done it properly. Please support by signing AND emailing the petition to all your friends. Facebook it too.

Re: Suggestions to bring equilibrium to our education system

Postby QuiteKSMum » Fri May 06, 2011 4:54 pm

Althou we are finished with PSLE for our child, I still SUPPORT this petition. I certainly do not relish the idea of guiding my grandkid(s) in their PSLE in my golden years. I also shudder to think abt the potential jump in the level of difficulty for PSLE 20 - 30 yrs down the road. By then, even if the heart is willing (to teach), the flesh (the brain) will definitely be too weak...

Oh boy! I am really lousy at this. I mean this thread. Where you and I are currently posting. Just in here. Like here. Where we are typing...

Actually, can you give me some suggestions on how to organise this better hah? Some specific suggestions. Whatever it is, do get your friends to sign up as KSP and pledge support too.

A-so-ne....kekeke

1. I support this petition
2. Agree that smaller classroom setting of 20 can optimise the "Teach Less, Learn More" concept as teacher can observe and guide learners better.
3. Identify learners' style and plan lessons according to learners' style, stretch or drill?
4. Schools need to be more consistent in their pedagogy.

more later.

And it is always wise to focus on the blessings we have than the blessings we don't have.

True, only by counting our blessings then we can stay positive...There's too many "unblessings" in this world, if we dwell too much on them, we can never be happy with what we have... :celebrate:

:hi5:

Cheers! :celebrate:
