well the list does not incl the TOP TOP schools such as RI, RGS, HCI etc.

The newspaper list is based on O level results. These really CREAM of CROP school do NOT take O level. They offer IP- Integrated Progam wher stdnts do not take O lvl. They have 6 years pro and at end of 6 years they take either GCE 'A' level or IB International Baccalaureate Diploma which is offered by ACS(I).

IP schools:
Anglo Chinese School (Independent)
Duman High Sch
Hwa Chong Inst
Nanyang Girls High Sch -- which ll joined HCI in HCJC
National JC
RGS --which joined RI at RJC
RI
River Valley High
NUS High School of Maths and Science -- 6 yrs IP leading to NUS HIgh sch Diploma

These school are schools that offered GEP at school based. All GEP stdnts from primary ll go to one of these inst to cont their GEP prog.

Not all IP schools offer the school based gifted education (SBGE) programme.

There are currently 7 IP schools which offer SBGE.

This link to MOE website lists the 7 IP schools.

well i wonder whether that all students from IP schools are really the CREAM of the CROP. Many parents send their kids to GEP training/cram sessions to get them ready for the GEP tests. So the qn remains as to whether they are really that good in the 1st place. If a child does the GEP test without any Training and passes, then the child maybe gifted.

And BPGHS is the overall champion for this year NJRC 09 (National Junior Robotic Compeition). So they got to go Japan end of this year. :D

There are upper secondary PRC scholars in their team. 3-5 students in team might not be representative. Nevertheless, a good school still.
