Really depends what is your definition of good school. If your definition of a good school is one that produces top PSLE students, then this is not a top school. You can see in this website it does not rank very high in terms of producing top students.

Personally i find the Chinese culture is strong in Hong Wen. It has strong focus on Chinese culture, such as "Shu Fa", Chinese music and dance, aside from learning Higher Chinese.

I think it will give our kids a good overall education, especially in Chinese culture, and groom them to handle a very advanced China in their grown up years.

Just my 2 cents.

I didn't know anyhing about this school until I moved into an area about 1.5km from Hong Wen. From what i heard in my neigbourhood Hong Wen is an outstanding school. I have also heard many children cried because they couldn't cope in the Chinese language and parents are losing their sleeps over the high academic standards set by the school.

I want to know is it true Hong Wen is a very good school. I don't hear much news about that school producing top PSLE students. Only know they are strong in Chinese cultural performances.     

Does anybody knows of any ministers or well-known personalities who have graduated from Hong Wen. I am very curious about this school indeed, but wasn't able to get much info from their website.  

Finally... i rec' call from them... starting 31 Oct.. hopefully, can clock 40hrs..

Hong Wen rejected mine application as too many PV till no job for them to do.. haiz

Right across the CTE from HongWen, at Blk 85 Whampoa Drive, there is a NTUC My First Skool that provides student care services. They call it TSP (The Student Place). I think there is one Indian lady that took care of the students. Not sure of the rates though. You can call them to find out more info.

2) Hossana Enrichment Centre @ 29 Branksome Road.

hope not.. already 83 applied under "< 1km" as at 2pm today..

Haiz... application exceed available 90 vacancies as of day 1...haiz.... i wonder if those within 1km need to ballot or not... :s
