Who are the webinar experts?

This webinar will be moderated by Carol Loi, a certified mental wellness coach and a Maxwell Leadership certified youth and family coach, drawing on a globally recognised framework for equipping leaders of all ages.

She is a co-founder of SGFamilies, a ground-up movement for parents to raise wholesome generations together.

We're also excited to welcome four panellists:

COL (NS) Darren Tan | A family coach and counsellor who has spent 35 years in the Singapore Armed Forces, and the last 25 years as an NSman. His units have been known to possess exceptional camaraderie; they have been featured in the mainstream news media and other media. 

Darren has been the SAF NSman of the Year, and he has been awarded the Total Defence Award three times in his civilian capacity. He is a Commitment to Defence Ambassador and speaks regularly on the various aspects of Total Defence to a varied audience, including students and SAF Units, as well as community and corporate organisations.

Dr Jared Ng | A psychiatrist with wide-ranging experience, including child and adolescent mental health. A graduate of Harvard University’s Master of Public Health programme, he believes in making mental healthcare accessible, compassionate, and free from stigma.

Loh Tang Ling | A mother who has a freelance day job in an event organiser company. She has also been an active and passionate PSG member for the past 13 years, and is currently serving as Exco Mentor at a primary school and junior college. She makes time for worthy causes, such as pre-NS talks and initiatives that benefit the parent community.

Tan Chien Kiat | An NSF (full-time National Serviceman) who is currently serving in the army. After passing out of his specialist cadet course in November 2024, he took up the role of a Signal Specialist in 39 SCE. Over the last two years, he has participated as a panellist for several Pre-NS talks, sharing his experience during the BMT period.
