2022 P1 Registration: Phase 1 Summary
We have just completed Phase 1 of the 2022 P1 Registration.
The highest increase in take-up rates (2022-2021) from last year is 14% and includes:
- Hougang Primary
- Greendale Primary
- Valour Primary
The biggest decreases in take-up rates (2022-2021) from last year are:
- Kheng Cheng Primary (-18%)
- CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ (-16%)
- Horizon Primary (-15%)
- Northoaks Primary (-14%)
I think we might raise an eyebrow seeing CHIJ SNGS is in this category, but it is actually good news for people eyeing a coveted place in the school in later Phases. There are also several other “elite” schools which have a shortfall in placements, eg:
- Ai Tong (-6%)
- Alexandra Primary (-10%)
- Henry Park (-2%)
- Nanyang Primary (-9%)
- …
So, while it is good news that there are more places downstream in these schools, I wouldn’t read too much into this until we have completed at least Phase 2B 🙂
Another thing to note is that there are actually quite a few schools which hardly changed their Phase 1 intake between 2021 and 2022, for example:
- Ngee Ann Primary
- Fairfield Methodist Primary
- Woodlands Ring Primary
- Chongfu Primary
- Peiying Primary
It is too soon to say what might happen in later Phases. Amongst all the schools, Oasis Primary has the dubious honor of having the highest intake so far of being 54% filled.
Regardless, congrats to all parents who have completed Phase 1. Let us prepare for Phase 2A.
