2025 P1 Registration Phase 1 Results

The 2025 P1 Registration Phase 1 is completed and we are now moving towards Phase 2A starting 10-11 July 2025. We thought it might be useful to take a quick peek at the Phase 1 results to have an inkling of what might be coming.

In the table below, we list the Phase 1 results for this year (2025 Phase 1) and last year (2024 Phase 1). Note that this year, MOE strangely did not post the Phase 1 results but posted the Phase 2A availability. So we worked backwards and hopefully, we got the numbers correct.

In any case, we compared the 2 numbers for 2025 and 2024 to list the differences. If the (2025-2024) column is negative, it is good news because it means there are less people registering this year compared to last year. Conversely, if it is positive (the number is marked in RED), then we need to be more cautious with that school because it means more people have registered for that school.

Then, look at the (Cohort) column which shows the number of additional places given to the school this year. If it is GREEN, that is good news because it means the school has increased its places for 2025. If it is PINK, then it means that the school has actually decreased its places for the year.

In other words, the worst case would be if both numbers are RED and PINK, which means not only did the school lost vacancies; the take up rate for Phase 1 is actually higher this year. Fortunately, not many schools are under this category, the notable ones are:

Fuhua Primary
Jurong Primary
Meridian Primary
Waterway Primary

Fortunately, only Waterway Primary is getting rather hot as last year, PRs living <1km did have to ballot, but Singapore citizens should have no problem getting into that school.

As a closing point, we have added a column "2025 TUR" which is this year's take up rate so far. As you can see, there are many schools already >40% taken up. The highest is Valour Primary (54%). This school is about 5 years of age, and in its earlier years, it was very popular with PRs. However, in the last year, many Singapore PRs have had to ballot <1km, so all things point to the same thing happening this year.
