Ok goody good! We finally got a confirmation from iExperience (by IDA) for tofu boy’s registration for the above workshop.
About the workshop: Specially designed for children from 4-12 years old, the Children’s Infocomm Workshop is for children to learn about next generation infocomm technologies through play. Children will get hands-on experience with various infocomm tools such as interactive white board, multi-touch interactive table, video-conferencing, virtual piano and 3D photo booths..
Time frame: 26 May 2014 – 15 Jun 2014 Sessions: 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2.30pm – 4.30pm
Cost: It’s free!
Location: 90 Bras Basah Road #B1-10/18 Esplanade Xchange (connected to Esplanade MRT station) Singapore 189562
Nearest mrt station: Cityhall and Esplanade Nearest car park: marina square/suntec city
Esplanade is the nearer mrt station. If I am not wrong, Esplanade Exchange sits right on top of the Esplanade Station.
Here’s how we got there: From city hall mrt station: go via the city link and walked all the way to Marina Square. When you are approaching Marina Square, instead of turning right and up the escalator to Marina Square, continue all the way to the end. By the end of the path, you would see the Esplanade Exchange. Go up the escalator, walk towards the food places. You shd see Burger King and/or 7eleven. iExperience is right next to 7eleven.
The above workshop is part of Children Season 2014. Even if you can’t get a slot during the Children Season, there are many interactive stations and exhibits which the whole family can enjoy. On weekends, these activities run from 10.30am – 4.30pm. But iExperience is open till 8pm daily.
To register: Email: iexperience@Ida.gov.sg
We were there early. Do come earlier to explore the stations on your own. The staff are really nice and friendly. Really. Everyone of them whom we met today. Not just nice leh, they are also big on hygiene. I saw the team lead walking around checking if the kids had sanitized their hands.
Not going to talk too much about the content. Your kids go and find out themselves ok? Hee.
Special thanks to the team at iExperience: Afandi, Mr Chew (the gentleman in the last two pictures), Philips, Siew Cheng and Jin Shan (my sincere apology if I had missed out any member). In particular to Mr Chew who was also the facilitator for tofu boy’s session.
This workshop is an eye opener for my technology suaku son. We do not allow electronic gadgets (sorry lor, our mobile phones are our phones. Our tablets are our toys, not his. No Xbox etc) for our son. So while he knows a little about touch screen technology and/or finger skills eg spread your thumb and index finger apart to enlarge the image, he …. Erm… Shd be quite a caveman compared to most kids around his age.
We went home with – a 4R photo with the iExperience signage – a participation certificate with our child’s name printed – a L-shape plastic folder. – a little boy’s whose mind had broadened.
