Holiday Courses for Kindergarten 2

 

Writing Stars *NEW*

A new course specially developed for little learners ready for a taste of Primary 1. Your child will read a well-loved tale and be engaged in various comprehension activities. They will also have a chance to act out parts of the story! After identifying the story’s key features, your child will have fun brainstorming ideas to create and write their very own alternative version of the story. 

Aimed at confident readers, this course adopts the Talk4Writing method that is currently being used in many UK schools. It will incorporate elements of drama, comprehension and composition towards the end goal of learners writing their own creative texts.

Reading Booster – Getting To Grips With Phonics

This programme helps to reinforce literacy skills for all students who need extra support in transitioning to reading fluency. Your child will learn about blends and syllabication, sight words recognition, phonics, tricky words and fluency practice. Storybook comprehension is covered as well.

Holiday Courses for Primary 1 to 6

 

Fact And Fiction – Creative Writing (Primary 1 to 5) *NEW*

Let your child develop their creativity and writing confidence on a range of text types appropriate for their level. They will engage in a variety of story prediction activities and learn to develop characters and plots in narratives. Students will also learn how to use the right language for the text type and explore how to write a good ending. At the end of the course, your children will take home a portfolio of work that they can reference when it comes to completing writing tasks for school.

Learn And Explore – Comprehension Skills (Primary 1 to 6)

Improve your child’s comprehension skills! Students will read from a range of engaging, up-to-date, age-appropriate fiction and non-fiction texts. They will also analyse and practise a variety of MOE-recognised question types relevant to their level. They will learn skills for critical reflection on their reading and themes, preparing them for success in the new school year.

Speaking With Confidence (Primary 4 to 5)

Expressing your ideas clearly and coherently is a skill that will last a lifetime! Your child will have the opportunity to practise speaking skills by exploring themes and presenting them in imaginative ways. Through developing and expressing ideas in a supportive, constructive and fun environment, your child will also build greater confidence. 

Get Ready For PSLE (Primary 5)

Get a head start for Primary 6. This course provides intensive practice of all elements of the examination: writing skills (Paper 1), language use and comprehension (Paper 2), listening comprehension (Paper 3) and oral communication (Paper 4). By exploring test questions within themes, students gain not only extra exposure to examination questions but also engage with the materials and their peers in a more meaningful manner.
