Equipping your child with all the skills they need be a 21st century learner

“All children who graduate from White Lodge leave with a lively curiosity about the world we live in,” says Jayne Nadarajoo, the founding director of White Lodge Schools.

With over 20 years of experience, the school educates not only with an academic framework in mind, but thinks about life skills and the future well-being of each child.

Considering that a child’s first five years are the most critical for brain development, what happens early in a child’s life can last a lifetime. Consequently, this often means that the early learning and development centres that our young ones attend can actually influence a generation in 5 years.

Mindful of this, White Lodge has developed a unique way to teach young children and support families. Teachers at White Lodge are trained to understand their crucial role and great influence on the children daily. Numerous hours are spent reviewing and monitoring the quality of care and education given, and the teachers teach not just to the head but to the hearts of all their children.

Regardless whether a graduate from White Lodge moves on to an international school or a local school frame work, our strong curriculum principals aim to prepare all students for their next schooling journey. These include a strong foundation in Jolly Phonics, Singapore Maths, Sciences as party of the pre-primary preparation programme and of course, Mandarin for our kindergarten students so that they have a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy.

Parents of Marisa Aria, who used to attend White Lodge and is currently in Primary 2 at a local school, feel that the social skills and exposure to wide range of topics at White Lodge provided their daughter with a great foundation for formal primary education.

“People typically think that, to be prepared for local primary schools, the child needs to be academically sound/ready. While this is true to a certain extent, independence and appropriate social skills are equally important, if not more important! This is because the classroom size in local primary schools is typically larger, so it is critical that your child is independent with good social/EQ skills” quotes her mom, Mira.

White Lodge also supports the Singapore government’s initiative to help make affordable preschool available for all Singaporean children. They offer subsidies for their childcare facilities across Singapore to better accommodate the working parent.

We invite parents with children from the age of 6 months to 6.5 years old to come down and visit one of our 8 centres across Singapore and experience what White Lodge International Preschool & Childcare has to offer to give your child the best start in life. Find out more.
