Just step into the 1,000-square-foot HBAF Almond flagship store near Myeongdong Station Exit 6 in Seoul and you’ll get an idea why. Visitors can choose from myriads of K-food inspired almond products (and other products such as nuts and popcorn) displayed in bulk, with samples for customers to try before they buy. Gigantic HBAF signature character mascots lend a lively and fun vibe, while offering cute photo opportunities.

Needless to say, HBAF products can also be found in supermarkets, convenience stores, tourist souvenir shops all across Korea.

First began in 1982, and known previously by other names, the company was the first importer of almonds to Korea. After overcoming multiple challenges, it rebranded itself as HBAF and has now gone down in history for sparking a “honey butter craze” in the country when it launched its now-famous Honey Butter Almond.

The brand “HBAF”, coined by the company’s current CEO, means “Healthy But Awesome Flavour”, as well as pays tribute to its star product “Honey Butter Almonds & Friends”. 

Loyal HBAF fans also can’t get enough of their almond products flavoured with seasonings reminiscent of Korean food, such as Tteokbokki-flavoured Almonds, Buldak-flavoured Almonds and Cheongyang Chilli Mayo Almonds.
