When are the June holidays in 2023? The much-awaited school break begins on Saturday 27 May, and ends on Sunday 25 June.
Not planning to travel, and don’t wish to spend hundreds of dollars on enrichment activities and camps? We hear you, and we can assure you that there are plenty of fun things to do in Singapore that are low-cost, or even free!
Below are 15 family-friendly activities that you can consider.
Parent-Child Workshops for S$50 or Less

If you’re looking for low-cost June holiday classes for your child, check the People’s Association website to see what’s happening at your nearest community club. Many of the PA’s holiday workshops are just for kids, but here are some that you can join with your child.
Create a Diptych (Two-Canvas Painting)
A diptych, pronounced “dip-tick,” is any piece of art that is created in two parts. It’s the perfect parent-child bonding activity for an afternoon.

Turn a Regular Bar of Soap into Art
Have you heard of “felted wool soap making?” This is the craft of using felted wool to create designs on a bar of soap. The wool will also have a gentle, exfoliating effect on the skin. Learn how to do this for your own soap bars, or you can create festive gifts too.

Have a Family Day at the Art Museum
The Singapore Art Museum is holding a SAMily Funday with programmes and activities for all ages. You can create your own art, learn how to preserve artworks, and participate in tours to explore the museum and its exhibitions. Admission to the Singapore Art Museum is free for Singaporeans and permanent residents.

Organise a Sports Outing
Need to run off some excess energy? Book badminton courts or table tennis tables using the ActiveSg app, or through the People’s Association. Other facilities that you can book include courts for basketball, futsal, and sepak takraw (“kick ball”).
On a blazing hot day, look for a public swimming pool near you, and take the whole family out for a splashing good time.
Go on an Outdoor Escape Adventure
Think you know the neighbourhood of Toa Payoh well? You might be proven wrong. Together with family or friends, join the Hidden Toa Payoh challenge to solve a trail of cryptic clues and discover awesome places in a two-hour self-guided game.
Take a Factory Tour
Find out how familiar products are made, and talk to interesting people! The non-profit organisation My Community is running tours in June that you can check out.
