this is a simple lunch that is easy to prepare and my kids totally loved. linguine with portobello mushroom and bacon, aglio olio style.
in saucepan, brown and crisp streaky bacon with some olive oil. dish up.
raw streaky bacon & crispy streaky bacon
stir fry mushroom with olive oil. dish up.
raw portobello mushroom & cooked portobello mushroom
add olive oil to pan to brown garlic. then add half-cooked spaghetti.
chopped garlic (half to brown, the other half to add when done) & half glass of white wine (for 3 kids)
also, add parsley, some light soya sauce and pasta water. simmer. add evoo.
kids do not take chilli padi. so i omitted that.
the mushrooms can to be added with the pasta water and all. you may choose to add bacon when the simmering is almost done or only just before serving for that extra crisp.
finished product… this one is for dd. she likes it with chilli flakes
