Improve your child’s creative writing by attending this 5-day writing boot camp. Your child will be taught to identify what it takes to produce a good piece of creative writing composition. Through hands-on activities, they will get to use their imagination and learn how to express their creativity and critical thinking in their writing!

For N1 and N2  

This is a theme-based programme that uses: stories; songs; discussions; drama activities; craft work; movement; music and improvised adventures to develop Confidence, Creativity and Collaboration. Each day, your child will take home a craft created in class that is related to and used in their themed adventure activities.

In this bootcamp, your child will:

  • Learn to build characterisation through acting techniques based on the individual themes.
  • Improve emotional control through emotion-based explorations.
  • Improve vocal projection and oral language skills by speaking in front of their friends and in group settings.
  • Develop the confidence to express their ideas through open discussions, storytelling and improvisation.
  • Explore language and develop comprehension skills by taking part in interactive storytelling.
  • Develop gross motor skills through drama, songs and movement.
  • Develop collaboration skills by listening and accepting others’ ideas through various team-based theatrical activities.

Every day your kid gets the opportunity to use, explore and engage with various props and costume pieces from the Creativity Chest.  These items are used as a stimulus to create monologues, dialogues and improvised scenes.  The Creativity Chest allows your kids to push their creative limits and lets their ideas soar!  Your kid will also prepare for and rehearse a short performance that parents can watch at the end of the bootcamp.  So, come and join us and watch your kid shine!!!

Our curriculum for this 2-day workshop is designed to enhance and further polish skills that are taught in school, deepen the understanding of concepts and foster collaborative skill though group or pair work.

ENGLISH

  • Learning to write creatively and to differentiate your child’s writing from their peers using figurative language
  • Equipping your child with a range of tools to write the best composition
  • Mastering grammar rules and learning the secrets to acing cloze passages
  • Learning the art of writing a good story
  • Brainstorming story ideas in pairs/groups and identifying if the ideas will contribute to a plausible plot                      
  • Revision on grammar rules
  • Learning how teachers set cloze passages and how to use contextual clues to derive the answers

CHINESE

  • Using imagination and learn how to exercise creativity and critical thinking through hands-on exercises to produce a good piece of composition
  • Introduction of external expressions through the use of descriptive language
  • Explaining a situation and the cause-and-effect of that situation
