In 2026, the PSLE marking days fall on Monday, 12 October to Wednesday, 14 October.
Primary schools will close for this marking exercise, so you may need to plan activities for your children, as well as take time off work if necessary.
Below, we have 10 suggestions for child-friendly activities during the PSLE marking days, from a LEGO building competition to museum exhibitions and booking a private pickleball court.
01 LEGO AI Builder Challenge 2026
Kids get to design and build an original creation using the LEGO® Education Computer Science and AI Kit, with no instructions and no coding required.
Each child gets a one-hour session, with 45 minutes to build, then a chance to present their creation to judges. Every participant takes home a medal!
Do note that children take part on their own, with no parents in the competition area, so this is ideal for those who are ready to build independently.
Junior: 7 to 9 years
Coder: 10 to 12 years

02 Amazing Generation Book Club
A four-session Zoom book club for kids, exploring how technology can hurt us, if we're not careful.
Kids will discover how to use technology in positive ways, as well as the importance of prioritising real friendships and time away from screens.

03 Singapore History Gallery at National Museum
Visit the newly revamped Singapore History Gallery, which reopens on October 10.
It will offer new perspectives on more than 700 years of Singapore’s history: from this island's origins as a kingdom of the Malay World through British colonisation and Japanese occupation, to achieving independence in 1965 and forging a multicultural nation looking towards a global future.
04 The Albatross File at NLB
A self-guided exhibition of declassified Cabinet papers, memorandums, and handwritten notes exploring Singapore’s separation from Malaysia.
The exhibition uses interactive storytelling and multimedia displays throughout.
05 When Art Meets Nature at National Gallery
A children’s art exhibition co-curated by the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts and National Gallery Singapore. It's a sensorial journey where you can explore nature through the artists’ lens, and reimagine new worlds that foster environmental sustainability.
06 Learning Gallery at SAM
An interactive contemporary art exhibition at the Singapore Art Museum, with works that explore identity, home, nature, and memory.
07 Spark!Lab at Punggol Library
A hands-on tinkering space where children explore how things work. No registration is needed, just walk in.
Weekends: 10am to 8:30pm
08 Casual Poet Library
A community library in Alexandra Village, where over 100 individuals each curate their own bookshelf. The space also hosts events such as book clubs and journaling workshops.
Note that it is closed on Mondays, so this works best for 13 or 14 October.
09 Pressed Flower Lamp Workshop
A parent-child craft session where pressed flowers, leaves, and natural elements are arranged and secured onto a USB-powered lamp to take home.
10 MADPICKLERS
For a more active day, MADPICKLERS offers private pickleball court bookings with a coach, if needed.
Based on a KiasuParents visit, the court is a large room booked exclusively for the group, with an eating space attached, which provides comfort and privacy.
