Re: CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' Secondary

Thank you phtthp! okay so there will be different rules for my son and daughter. Am glad EJC doesn't make it compulsory to take Year 5 Chinese so long as one clears the D7 hurdle which is what the local universities require.

Re: Hwa Chong Institution (High School)

Hi,

My son is in HCI High School section now.

There are some HCL kids who take the O level Chinese paper in Sec 3 year end.

Some opt to do it; others are recommended to do it. It doesn't matter whether you take it or not..

All students reading HCL will take O level HCL at the end of Sec 4.

Re: CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' Secondary

Hi Phtthp

Would you know if EJC requires IP students to obtain a certain minimum grade for HCL before they are allowed to "drop" Chinese in Year 5?

Thanks.

Re: Elections 2020 announced

yes I agree. It will be a real test of their interest and commitment to public service and to their role as an MP. I wonder if there will be calls towards full-time MPs :) Will be interesting if so.

Re: Elections 2020 announced

Compared to what a significant number of them are earning now and given the uncertainty of the job. They also want to build up professional experience.

Re: Elections 2020 announced

If MPs are a full time job, even with a 20k (or maybe even 30k) allowance, I think half if not more than half the current MPs will quit. There isn't even a single full time MP now - even Tin Pei Ling has gone to back to work. All the lawyers, doctors, professionals, will not give up their jobs to be...

Re: Elections 2020 announced

If PSP nominates two good, active NCMPs who are seen, heard, and build their credentials across the next 5 years (I can imagine Hazel Poa being one of them, even though PSP has not declared their nominations), and Lee Hsien Yang comes back to join the 2 of them to run in West Coast GRC in 2025, I t...

I agree that traffic this morning was heavy. Felt like 75% when we dropped off kid at a school along the Bukit Timah stretch.

I do think the Gill Mask is a great product for everyday wearing for errands etc. This is provided one doesn't mind the aesthetics.
