Re: Work from Home

Probably a good start is to define workspaces for you and spouse (so that each have your space without stepping on toes) and a time routine for own work, couple time, child teaching time and family time. It's still early days for WFH, so a lot to figure out and adjust :)

For people who intend to do home-cooked food during this circuit breaker period, quite comprehensive list of sites that you can order fresh produce from, aside from the usual NTUC/Cold Storage/Amazon major websites.

Re: Self-publishing a book: anyone done this before?

Congrats.. hope this will be well-received! I did one picture book a few years back on KDP - was a challenging, eye-opening experience as everything needs to be done by yourself. But wasn't really marketing it; i used the self-prints on the family kids - the only readers i ever had. Yay  Submit...

[World Health Organization] Limited or No Screen Time for Children Under 5

Okay, glad wife and i generally kept to this policy, although we are liberal at times with screen time. :P https://www.who.int/news-room/detail/24-04-2019-to-grow-up-healthy-children-need-to-sit-less-and-play-more "Children under five must spend less time sitting watching screens, or restrained in p...

Kinda wish the school has such talks for parents/child to attend together. The best way seems to be to ...

By keeping lines of communication open, your child will be more likely to come to you if they encounter any problems online in the future.

Re: Briefing your child on Internet Safety

Indeed, it's good that makes the child conscious of simple concepts like user names, passwords and revealing family info, which a child will honestly do if they treat the online world like the physical world environment.

Briefing your child on Internet Safety

Found it useful as a starter resource to prep DD on internet safety. It is pictorial (cute), so quite easy for a child to understand. Also has parental notes, which is useful!

Re: What do you do if your child is being bullied?

That's a good and true point. There is a lot of highlight on the bullied and not enough societal awareness on the bullies, as bullies are often cast as deliberate bad children, which is not always psychologically true. Also, parents of bullies, who are having psycho-emotional issues, may also be too...
