Re: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)

Anyone knows CCA bonus points applicable to ACSI IP students? If not then how it is useful for IP students? Any advice? CCA points aren't applicable to IP students in the strict sense, since they are—on meeting the internal criteria—promoted to their respective pre-university classes: in this case,...

Re: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) [*IP]

We'd like to know whether triple science option is very popular and my DS could miss the opportunity even he meets the requirement. And how many triple science class are there in Y3 ? The triple science option is less popular than it used to be simply because it isn't as important as it used to be....

Is it really 6:1 small group? 60 per hour is still OK if the teacher is good.
There's 6-10:1 small group, $100+GST for 2 hour slot.

For S3 and above, individual tuition is around $120-$150 per hour.

Re: O-Level Chemistry

There are just three main areas a student needs to grasp in order to master O-level Chemistry (or actually, Chemistry at any level). Think of these three things as 'filters' that are used singly or together to understand what's going on. 1. Electronic effects: Where are the electrons and what are th...

Re: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) [*IP]

For Year 2 express promotion to Year 3 (IP), what is the typicakl percentage of marks in SA1 required typically? About 85% across the board. really untrue... you can get low to borderline 70s and make get accepted into ip, or get high 80s and not make it... it all matters based on the other aspects...

Re: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) [*IP]

Best to apply for DSA only with appropriate skill-set. Does he have anything else that might be sufficient? :)

Re: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) [*IP]

At the end of sec 2, who can transfer into ACSI ? only restricted to boys from ACS (barker) secondary, or anyone from outside schools ? Anybody not already in an IP can attempt it. However, it is far from easy; chance of success from outside is very low. I was once in charge of the admissions testi...
