Re: Welcome 2020 !

I am on the verge of accepting a new job which offers (a little) more pay and (much) more responsibility. I have mixed feelings about this - this is a promotion, and aren't we programmed to chase promotions?; but I have little kids and this means even less time with them. Someone said here that the ...

Re: All About Parenting Teenagers

If i could not be close to my child by age 12. Is it too late to bond with her, now she reached her teenage years I tried my best but often i wonder if i had done too little and now too late. Yet i love her more than myself . I just feel so sad ... I'd like to think it's never too late - it probabl...

Re: Child Feels Left Out

I don't have advice but I feel like this is in my future - my kid is a year younger and already comes home with friend drama (also involving off-and-on BFFs...what is it about girls and BFFs??). I listen to her but do not otherwise do or say anything about it; I hope this is the right approach, but ...

I think near mid Dec, CNY deco will be fighting with Xmas deco
The last time CNY was early, I told my girls that we should just hang CNY decorations on the Christmas tree! That idea was vetoed, though.
I logged in to say, this is a great idea! (I don't think my kid would go for it either.)

Re: Want to ask about Kindle

So is it still possible to read NLB's ebook in PDF using Kindle? Can't answer this question, but reading PDF on an ereader is not very easy. The words do not re-wrap as they do with other formats, so you have to move the image from side to side as you read - I find it impossible to read a book that...

Re: Want to ask about Kindle

I noticed that NLB has recently switched from Overdrive app to Libby app. Is it still incompatible with Kindle ebooks format? following Yah you can still only download books in epub format. The Libby app is great, but it's basically an app to let you find and read library books from a phone or comp...

Re: Want to ask about Kindle

Agree - it's so much easier to read on a Kindle than on a screen.

The only thing is that NLB e-books cannot be downloaded in a Kindle-compatible format, so there's that.

Re: Underweight son. How?

Hi shisan, just to say that the pediatricians at KKH will refer you to a nutritionist if they/you think it best. Good luck! It's really hard when kids don't/won't eat.

Esteema, I'm inspired to get my kid involved in cooking!

Re: Which is the most difficult O Level Subject?

How about between Sec 3 literature "Julius Caesar" and "Merchant of Venice", which one easier to study ? I think same same. The hardest plays are the comedies, because it's hard to explain humour, and many kids don't find the plays funny in the first place. Don't know about difficulty, but Merchant...

Re: IP vs O level

I meet JC/uni-age kids in the course of my work, and there is a not-insignificant number of kids with mental health issues, though they mostly resolve them or learn to manage them. I think the important thing is to let them know that there's absolutely no shame in having a mental health problem, jus...
