Re: Triple Sciences

Next CNY: In-law: Hey, boy/girl just got O Level results back, so good! You remember what you scored? Self: No, no, so long ago, cannot remember. In-law: Ah, no problem, just check your Singpass! Self: Phone signal no good, cannot connect. In-law: Come, come, I get you wifi password, will have very ...

Re: Hwa Chong Institution (High School)

Can I check, since CCA is 2-3x a week, if it clashes with any programmes like MSP or other school related programmes, which one takes precedence? Are they allowed to skip 1 out of 3 CCA days? I think it may depend on the CCA. To be gone a day will be more disruptive to others in some CCAs. If not t...

Re: Triple Sciences

Jmo, even if struggling in maths, math is still more manageable than ki ... I agree with doodbug , mostly, & slmkhoo . Plus I feel that KI's way of conducting lessons seems to be substantially self-directed, so if the (ki) student population is small, it is difficult to benefit from the (ki) curric...

Re: Triple Sciences

On the keep two vs. drop to one, I understand the issue of being "forced" to put the one in the calculation (L1R5). At the same time, the option to pick between two is worth the most if the likely score is similar or there is decent overlap in the range of reasonably possible scores. If trying to ea...

Re: Triple Sciences

Maths is important even for Arts students. Most Arts students still take Maths as the contrasting subject, either at H2 or H1 level. Unless they want to take a science as a contrasting subject, which I think is even harder. I think Math is compulsory with either Physics or Chem (and Bio must be pai...

Re: Triple Sciences

I think Chemistry is compulsory at most schools? I.e. if drop to one pure, I think it must (or most likely needs to) be Chemistry.

Math and Chemistry should keep a reasonable number of paths open.

Re: Triple Sciences

re dropping one or take combined, I don't know the ins and outs of combined. However, my gut reaction would be to drop one. Reason being a student can only take two in JC (if go this route), might as well pick which one to whack now. May not be the case but I assume most (considering the decision) w...
