You can buy them at Bras Basah -- just about every level has a bookstore selling them.

Re: Improving O levels English to A1

I used Wren and Martin. It's an old book, and teaches English the old style. E.g., What's an adverb?; How to use it?; How not to use it?; Drill questions.

The cover page can be seen at http://ascklee.org/English.html.

Other English books are also featured on the page.

Re: cheapest photostating available?

Very near the post office in town (the one facing the straits). It's an old corner shophouse. I don't photocopy that frequently, but I think the rates at different shops should be comparable for volume copying (say 200 copies of the same page). Thanks.

If you happen to be in Johor Bahru, you can also send you stuff to be photocopied there. It think it's 4 sen per A4 sheet.

Re: Good and cheap food in JB

If you're at City Square, there are back lanes there that serves excellent Sup Kambing -- absolutely fantastic -- RM5. From City Square, walk towards the money change area near where the old checkpoint used to be. Turn into the back alleys. Starts operating from about 6 p.m.

Apologies for the late reply. I'm actually away at a conference. Dear looking4Tutor, Thanks you very much for offering to do the diagrams. Will PM you the next time I come across something that is better explained with a chart. Dear Augmum, No problems -- my pleasure. I've also experimented a little...
