If all students doing HMT were high-ability students, there would not be failures among these students, not to mention single digit score. I would assume you are speaking for the high-ability students but let’s not neglect the mixed-ability ones.
Only the top 2 or 3 classes (of course all high ability students) are offered HMT, as that is the practice of the school all these years, and it has not changed so far.

can u all recommend which centre is good to learn for a 'not so beginner' n not too expensive? many of these classes r quite pricey... You can try this centre called Robotics Connection. They have 2 locations: coronation plaza and serangoon gardens, and cater for beginner, intermediate, advance etc...
