Re: Tuition loan vs CPF

Loans may have high uncertainties, but for most people, including myself, are unavoidable. I'm sure most of us are tied to the yoke by our housing loan, probably to our death beds :) We just hope that our children can avoid our same fate.

Re: Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) Updates

This outbreak really shows how interconnected we really are. I wonder how long more can the world last with such fear.

Re: Survey about your child well being in NS

Hmm... as I was curious I tried the survey. But I'm rather disappointed as I do not understand what you (or I) are doing. It's a short survey, yes, but what was its purpose? To push for a parent engagement platform for NS folks? Good idea, but I don't think it will happen because the platform will e...

Re: ME TIME!

Here's something funny. I was exercising when a guy came to my threadmill which was next to the entrance to relax. Then he started to cough, and went on for about a minute. I was flabbergasted as he was quite close to me. Then he went behind me to do some weight exercises and still coughed and only ...

Re: DSA 2020

This is so true. I went for open house in elite school last year. They said for music, no need to pass any ABRSM. As long as they have passion for music, that is enough. They even mentioned that music taught in primary is good enough to identify:) I asked how they will evaluate and they said they k...

Re: [Wuhan Cornoavirus] Global Updates 24/1

According to this , the mortality rate of dengue is less than 1% but it could be as high as 50% if left untreated. Up to 50% of humans (30 billion people) are at risk. Yet most people take dengue in their stride, and comfortably living with it in our midst. That's because it is well known and we hav...

Re: Club SAHM

Welcome Anitha_d! Are your kids in the same school? P5 is really the start of the preparation for PSLE so the teachers will want to "shock" the kids a little with tougher questions so as to wake them up :p

Re: DSA 2020

Very true. My dd1 got into NYGH via sports and even though she got the offer, she also worked doubly hard at PSLE bc she doesn't want to be looked down at having a less than ideal t score entering the school. There is still a stigma about sports students bc majority of the O level on-demand class s...

Re: DSA 2020

Based on a friend's experience in 2018, it appeared that the chance is extremely low though she consistently scored 90s in Eng and ranked top 10 in school. She did not get pass the written test. Eventually she entered via PSLE. This is an interesting observation. I think DSA is generally seen as a ...
