Re: All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

Thank you! Because we can only move in around March next year. So I need to consider the logistics as well for the 6 months. New school is about 20-30 mins drive away. But i guess i have no choice but to grab now right.

Re: All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

I submitted my application to transfer my child (P3 this year) to another school nearer to my new house in year 2020. Today, the school called and told me that there is a vacancy for her and she needs to start in Term 4 (after Sep school holidays). They can't wait until next year because by end of t...

Re: All About (Global) Development Delays

Hi Grace! My child is due for P1 next year, but due to her overall delays and after seeking advice from teachers, therapists and her doctor, we have made the decision to defer her for a year. In the next one year, I will send her for private intervention on a daily basis where they will continue her...

Re: P1 Deferment

I have received MOE's reply as follows: Upon receiving completed documentation, CEU will be able to process your deferment application within a month and result will be notify via post mail to parents. It is advisable that you proceed to participate in the P1 registration exercise for your child thi...

Re: P1 Deferment

Hello parents, by the way I saw this on the MOE website: I have registered and secured a place for my child at the end of the Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise, but now find that my child may have difficulty in coping. Can I let my child start a year later? Answer: Please write to MOE's Compuls...

Re: P1 Deferment

A six-month delay is small, considering that there are November and December-born kids starting school together with January-born kids in P1. I have a year-end kid myself so I know the disadvantage. However, your mention of weak pencil grip and inability to copy Chinese words is troubling. Have you...

Re: P1 Deferment

Thank you everyone for your input. @zac's mum , her GDD case is quite mild because other than academically (learning difficulties), she has no major problems in other areas. She also does not have good pencil grip and cannot copy chinese words. We suspected a few other factors such as visual percept...

Re: P1 Deferment

My child will be going P1 next year. She was diagnosed with developmental delay when she was about 4 years old. She mainly has delays in speech and also she is weak in her reading and writing. She has been doing speech therapy for more than a year and we send her for phonics classes to help her with...

Re: All About Selective Mutism

Hi all, I suspect that my 6yo has selective mutism. I read up some information and realized that she displays some of the behaviours of having selective mutism. She wouldn't ask for help if she needed - eg. needs to go to the washroom but doesn't speak up to ask permission. I am very worried she wil...

Re: Nan Hua Primary

My boy is already in P4 and I just thought I should come back and leave some feedback for future parents of Nanhua about the school. I enrolled by boy for Nanhua mostly because it teaches higher chinese and of course it is supposedly a good school. However after 4 years, I can say actually most imp...
