My dd who just started grade 1 is give just 1 music piece to practice every week and is expected to play it in a reasonably well manner by the next week before being given a new piece to practice for the subsequent week. Is this a normal practice for music lessons or is it a wasting time?

My girl started learning piano this year right after PSLE. She requested for the lessons herself and I thought that this is a good time for her to start a hobby. Nevermind about grading test. Most important must enjoy playing music first.

i hv set my eyes on electric model piano CLP535. It has weighted keys and according to the sales guy at Yamaha in malaysia can be used for practice up to grade 8 and is exam model.
