Re: Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary

Aiyo, Mark, are you sure? Your precious ds that can play classical song on piano so well, mature in thinking.... in xchange for my dd. I din meant that way, what I meant is in comparison with E3'dd. 一山还有一山高 mah. You know me. I tend to see the lighter side of everything. If everybody compare...

Re: 10 per cent of S'poreans affected by mental illnesses

I read the article as 10% of S'poreans will be affected by mental illness. I'm not surprised. When I read of kids who didn't get through GEP round 2 crying because they would get scolding from their parents, I know that it's a crazy, stressful world that some of us live in. I asked myself what's the...

Re: Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary

From what I can see, she really has no problem in GEP, leh. She is well prepared, so sit back & enjoy the journey. I wish my dd is also like that , that I don't have to feel the stress & 'heat' of GEP. C'mon comfy. Something must be wrong if we consider our GEP kids as not good enough. How ...

Re: Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary

P4 next year, thought there might be some vacancies due to GEP transfer  Welcome, welcome. We need good people to replace the good people who have just left. This type of things must quick-hand-quick-leg. Not trying to hint anything, but recently someone offered to host BBQ if her kid gets en...

Re: Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary

1. The teachers follow suit. It's great for ds that the Ts are following suit. 2. Yes, there is banding for HCL in P2. Thanks dyh. The reason I asked was that yesterday in the car, ds was whining that next year he'll have moxie which will be a challenge. Then I remarked why he never whines when he ...

Re: Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary

For all the 2012 P1 parents going for the orientation tomorrow, very exciting isn't it? Especially if it's for your eldest kid. Got a couple of questions to ask. Since P1 enblocs to P2, do the Ts follow suit too? I heard rumours that they don't but just want to confirm. Is there subject banding for ...

Re: Raising Resilient Children

I'm pretty proud of her for that. But also pretty irritated with her cos she still defended L. Saying it was not L's fault, it was L's sister who destroyed the pinata. Ok, might be true and think I can learn to be more forgiving and less skeptical like DD. I think I understand your feeling. If it w...

Re: All About Choosing Pianos

these extensive shopping experiences sounds like for those with big budget. if my budget is small as my boy is only beginning to play piano (and he is the only one learning; elder boy not so keen) and we are not rich, will these sales person entertain us? makes me wonder if i should just pop over t...

Re: Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary

Did you let him sat for the grade 1 exam? I am thinking of skipping grade 1 exam, just go on to learning grade 2, then take grade 2 exam. Hopefully can find time to do so before sitting for his PSLE. My elder boy's sec classmate sat for his grade 2 last July. Yes, he will be taking grade 1 next yea...

Re: P1 kid who's very easily swayed by friends' comments

busymom, that was a touching read. markfch, while this thread started off with one issue, it has moved on to give many useful suggestions and experiences. May I suggest to change the heading to "Raising Resilient Children" or some such thing. Just a suggestion Agree. Subject heading changed as requ...
