Re: Measuring success of mum with children’s results

Just wondering how do you all handle with exam stress? Currently handling a 16 years old who realizes it’s too late to study hard at last min for O’ Levels... Most kids need to have 'goals' (for the 'glory' of teachers or parents, for own career, for both, etc) first before they can find meanings a...

Re: Measuring success of mum with children’s results

Intelligence ranges from 1 -100% Attitude ranges from 1 -100% I tend to assess kids from their young ages with the above scales and sort them accordingly by the age of 7. My girl (currently late 20s) is high intelligence (85%) with good attitude (80%) – this one l left her 95% alone when she was you...

Re: All About Working With Children Who Are Weak Academically

Sorting all the papers with my GN over the weekend at the close of exams Chanced upon her timetable when i flipped thru her notebook: https://i.postimg.cc/dDQQxcb5/timetable.jpg Felt moved and saw hopes that slowly and steady she can get herself to where she could be if she can persevere. *I set sim...

Re: All About Working With Children Who Are Weak Academically

Hi Hercules, My son is P4 this year that's why he will be the first batch to go through the new AL scoring system. His scores for Chinese is about 20-30 and about 60s for the other 3 subjects. He has been failing his Chinese since P2 so I thought there is good basis to request for exemption for MT....

Re: All About Working With Children Who Are Weak Academically

Hi, I am checking out for my son with learning disabilities. What will be the difference between switching to Foundation level and exemption of MT? One of the differences I can think of is that exemption will need to rely on his peers for his result whereas he will use his own score for foundation?...

Re: Polytechnic courses

I’m doubtful that it will be as low as 6points. However, given that it has a very small cohort of 80, COP is unlikely to be much higher than 10 (ie A2 average). If A2 average then it will be achievable for my nephew. I hope will be around 8 as 6 will be tougher for him (guessing 6 is also becoz it ...

Re: Polytechnic courses

I read this SP's AI course with interest for my nephew (yet to share with him).

Anybody has a gauge of the COP that will be required? My gauge is about L1R4 - 6 points.

Re: 2019 PSLE Discussions and Strategies (Children born in 2007)

The second half of this episode worth listening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQgU2it5bTk&list=PLAPUFB0EKWq_A9IrXh_PSB_uFocMKretG Many parents help their kids to get the As and A* in academics but I am always looking at how to get kids to get those grades in terms of Happiness. Children must be a...
