Re: Secondary Schools opinions

I guess observing the students' behaviour helps? Also, I would also choose to speak to students who are not on open-house canvassing duties to get a feel of the general student cohort if they are around ... the marketing team would have been more prepared ... Then, find out what academic support is ...

Re: Compare RGS vs NYGH

My personal take away from having tried DSA to both NYGH and RGS, and having been through the rounds two years back, is that if the school is very confident that the candidate will be able to enter through PSLE T-Score, they might give the opportunity to another candidate whom they believe has poten...

Re: DSA 2016

Re: Choosing and Evaluating Primary Schools

Call the primary and speak with the Principal. I did that before DD1 enrolled for P1 many years ago with a couple of shortlisted primary schools. I was granted access to the school during recess time so I have a view of the children's behaviour and also had a chance to speak with the Principal and ...

Re: Are Singapore students too stressed out?

Only dd1 is ultra happy. dd2 is just normal happy. Not sure if there's such a term 'normal happy' Normal happy as in even if dd2 is super busy with multiple competitions and exam all in the same week, she still maintains her good mood, can chat to me bubbly about something funny that happen i...

Re: DSA 2016

Hi all, DD plays 2 instruments- Chinese orchestra instrument and western instrument. G8 certifications but no national level placements. She's above average academically in neighbourhood school but not stellar results. Taking HCL subject. Can anyone advise DSA to Chung Cheng High (Main) via Chinese...

Re: DSA 2016

Tea with Principal. So how is tea with the Principal like? What goes on during such tea sessions? Consider the launch of new condo projects. Tea with P is similar to the soft-launch, where they try to sell the school and entice a pool of talents to submit DSA applications, and why the school ...
