Re: Travel: New Zealand

Hi, can i check which phone option is best for nz road trips? Buy the local sim or I'm thinking of using starhub data travel. Any feedback on these or any other options? I'll be renting a motorhome that gives 1gb wifi but reviews say that it's patchy. I need the phone mainly to call ahead to confirm...

Re: Travel: New Zealand

Just sharing with you that there are 2 discount cards that you might want to consider esp if you intend to go for packages or stay at holiday parks. One is the kiwi card that costs nzd35 n the other is top 10 card that costs nzd49. Both valid for 2 yrs. It's 10% disc for most activities n accommodat...

Re: Travel: New Zealand

Hi simkhoo, we didnt take photos that time as the rental co gave us an all clear when we returned the car. Hence, we felt it is not equitable for them to charge the cost thereafter. Luckily, they are reasonable abt it & returned our money. This is our 1st time experiencing such 'surprise'. Anyway, e...

Re: Travel: New Zealand

Do you mean go rentals? I've rented from them before becos of good reviews on rankers. They tried to debit our credit card after we came back to spore due to a 'damage' found subsequently. After we disputed their claim, they did refund us in the end. Just be careful when dealing with this company.

Re: Travel: New Zealand

Hi, need to check wth those who rented motorhomes before - will spore class 3 licence qualify to drive? I just want to double check cos spore licence says we can't drive vehicles more than 2500kg. I did check with rental co & they said nz does not hv restrictions on weight of vehicle so long as it's...

Re: Philips Air Fryer

It's the best piece of modern kitchen equipment for me. Fast heat up of any breads or pastries to the kind of texture very close to freshly made! Very good tolerance for cooking chicken or pork (hvnt tried beef yet), usual comes out crispy outside juicy inside. I love it to bits! Except my issue is ...

Re: Using ATM card in Japan

Thanks for your replies. Have read more about it & looks quite commonly done by travellers. It's best to carry emergency yen & change upon arrival at airport. Rates are abt same at airport & in city. Am staying very near Shinjuku/Ueno station & so convenient to draw from ATMs at post office & 7-11s....

Using ATM card in Japan

Hi, I just read from tripadvisor that it's quite advisable to draw cash from ATM in Japan (quite favourable rates). Is anyone doing this when travelling to Japan? I just checked with POSB & they say they charge a fee of S$5 for each overseas withdrawal. If the exchange rate is similar to Spore or be...
