Re: O-Level Elementary Math

Angle BOC = 64 x 2 = 128 degrees (because angle at the centre is 2x angle at the circumference) Triangle BOC is isoceles. So that means angle OCB = angle OBC = (180 - 128)/2 = 26 degrees. Angle AOC = 180 - 16 - 26 = 138 degrees. Angle DOC = 180 - 138 = 42 degrees Triangle OCD is isoceles. So that me...

Re: Raymond's Math Studio - Discussion

There is no such thing as guaranteed results 100%.

As an educator, we all know that the students have a MAJOR role to play in their own results.

If a child wants to improve, he/she has to take the first step in working hard. Merely 2 hours of tutoring a week won't change anything.

Re: Looking for Homebased job

Have a home-based kind of "job" but it can't be full time. You can earn a little bit of side income (~$10/day).

Re: tutor hiking rates: what to do

To answer your question, as we all know, the industry is not regulated (and this is usually bad). If the tutor wants to hike her rate, you can attempt to negotiate. If you cannot accept the rate, then feel free to hire another tutor. However, I would suggest to negotiate first. Bear in mind that if ...

Re: 2014-15 H3s

H3 subjects are mainly for interest. That said, I'll chip in with my two cents. Mathematics is an important foundation for many courses in University, as well as graduate studies (should you decide to do it). Some of the most lucrative jobs out there are known as Quants (Quantitative finance, Quanti...

Re: Settlement of HDB loan

My parents still owed $42k HDB Loan. Recently, I suggested to my parents to use $20k to pay back the loan. The outstanding amount is now $22k.

Next year, we will be paying back another $7k.

The idea is to pay back completely within 5 years.

Re: Advice on Savings Plans

My few cents worth. For savings plan, there is both the highly liquid and the illiquid types. Which do you prefer? For the highly liquid one, there's OCBC360, which gives you up to 3.05% p.a. if you satisfy their 3 criteria. Read it up here: http://www.ocbc.com.sg/personal-banking ... count.html For...
