Re: Self-employed: How do you manage your finances?

Investments are not without risk. I believe this point has been reiterated several times in this post. If you're financially savvy, the optimum thing to do would be to buy a term insurance and then use the rest of your money to invest (note, I don't mean ILPs or unit trusts). Just pure investment in...

Re: All About Market Rates of Private Tutors

Some weird things I read around here, that seems to have the "I am more important than you" mentality, by some users I shall not name. Cancellation at last minute? Oh yeah? I guess people don't like their plans disrupted. If tutors set aside that particular time slot for you, and you cancel, where i...

Re: Self-employed: How do you manage your finances?

You are right. They are different things.

Term insurance has no value at the end of it, whereas CI *might* have (depending on the plan you purchase).

Yes, for health insurance, I am referring to integrated Medishield plan.

Re: ADVICE ON JC1 SURVIVAL

As many of the previous posters said, it is about consistency. 2 hours of study a day is sufficient to get you a grade of B-C. 4 hours of study a day is sufficient to get you A. That said, studying must be smart studying. Focus on what you don't know and then consult your friends or teachers. Studyi...

Re: Advice on choosing Serangoon Junior College (SRJC)

The cut-off point for SRJC appears to be 12. It is getting better and better.

Distance is an important factor in choosing schools, so I am of the opinion that you are making a good choice.

Factorise 144z^2 + 121.
This has a pair of complex roots. So, it is
(z + 11/12 i)(z - 11/12i), where i = sqrt(-1) is the imaginary number.

This is not in the O level syllabus, only in the A level syllabus.

Re: All About Market Rates of Private Tutors

There is no such thing as a "market" rate. Tuition agencies are merely attempting to manipulate the rate.

Re: All About Market Rates of Private Tutors

for math, a tutor doesn't need to give a copy of formulas...students will know that by heart. how students can improve in math is tutors' methods of coaching and how to handle different types of questions. Oh, sorry. Then you are right. I've always been "reading" your posts from a perspective of a ...
