Re: IP vs O level

Actually maybe we worry too much? And it is not true IP is too stressful. It’s all in perspective. There are some who did bare minimum but can get by (my dd so she has time for sports and dance and social media) of course there are some who must get all A1s..... I don't think so leh. So far all the...

Re: IP vs O level

Not all IP are so intense. Also depends on the kids...some study very hard coz they want to stay right on top...some study very hard to meet baseline. Others may seem to be spending a lot of time coz they are low in efficiency. A kid ever told me the difference in effort between an A and A+ is so g...

Re: IP vs O level

From personal experience, I have seen kids scoring >260 at PSLE and yet struggled in IP, ending up with dismal A levels results which forces them to continue their tertiary education overseas. My understanding is that these kids were not able to adapt to the new requirements of IP and thus were bad...

Re: IP vs O level

Like what few parents advocate, choose the path which suits your child better for the next 6 years. There is no wrong or right. As parents, our role is to observe and understand our children's strengths, weaknesses and learning styles. This would serve as a good basis to decide which route is more s...

Re: GEP 2017 - Screening & Selection

Saw a lot of P2 / P3 parents send their children for Gep training, at Mindstretcher (Bishan) HQ. Even got some Parents called up Mindstretcher when their child only Primary 1, inquired whether can send their kids there, for early Gep training. Was thinking ... There is this Gep Heuristic Maths book...

Re: DSA 2017

Just wonder any parents are starting to have any thoughts about post PSLE vs DSA school choice.... The general feeling of this year PSLE seems harder. On top of this, my DS fell sick the night before Science paper and did not complete the paper :faint: My DS got offered 1 WL and 1CO. But now after ...

Re: DSA 2017

i agree that IB is more holistic that A levels. However I disagree with "Local uni as long got 35/45 and above can get in". It depends on the course you want in local uni. Don't expect to get into the popular courses with 35/45. Perspective from a mum who has a DD that finished A levels, and a DS d...
