Does your child kiss you on the lips?

I've kissed my kids on the lips a few times only. Fear of germs transmission, and I thought the lips shld be reserved for their future spouses. We only hug and kiss each other on the cheeks.
As for maids kissing babies on their lips, that, again it's a bigger NO for me. In fact, I've seen maids doing that at playgrounds and I've stopped them before.
Mind you, hepatitis is transmitted thru saliva, and hep screening is not compulsory for maids. Call me paranoid, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, and anyway, my heart would ache if I see my kids or maid kissing each other on the lips.

Oh mathsparks, you definitely brought up a v good point.
For me, my answer is based on the premise that DS can only kiss mummi on the lips lah .... for now. When the galfrd or spouse comes in, I'll back of gracefully
He has been taught not to kiss anyone else on the lips, so I also suspect over time that he kinda put this in practice with me as well
Yup, I would 'die' too if I saw DS giving an affectionate kiss or vice versa ...

Ohhhh, you are so totally funnymarkfch wrote:I think it's a mixture of both. I'm just more used to ds writing me little notes to say he loves me 500% today, or drawing a black fish to relate that I gave him a black face today. Or taking $2 from my wallet to 'reward' me because something I did pleased him today. But hey, that's my money in the first place . He must have learnt this bad habit from dwautumnbronze wrote: Now my turn .... to ask that is ....
Out of curiousity, why do you find it repulsive??? Is it a guy thing or could it be that perhaps you were not brought up in an overtly affectionate environment
Okie, yeah, I see where you are coming from ....

Warning: Proud dad boosting about his ds.
My ds can really be very compassionate at times. There was once we attended a birthday party when he was 3. One of the games played was Pinata where the aim is to use a stick to beat a paper donkey so that sweets hidden inside will fall out.
The children queued up to hit the donkey. When it was my ds's turn, he actually dropped the stick, ran to hug the donkey and then said he does want the sweets. And he really loves sweets ok. He cried and told the organizer that he doesn't want to hurt the donkey. He kept saying: 'donkey feels pain'. So so
All the other parents were in this jaws-dropping state of shock :!: . And there I was, proudly declaring that Empathy was my ds's middle name.

Hi Mathsparks!
Yes, I feel the same way too so recently told our maid not to do it and I tried to be as displomatic as possible because she thought she was doing a good job of showing love by hugging and kissing my DS!
But I told her outright since DH and myself also love our DS so much but hardly got to kiss him, then as maid she should not do it too. Especially not in front of everybody else as anybody who sees it (including us) will not like it.
Sort of spoiled the mood at home but she said she appreciate that we told her and she will refrain from hence forth.
