What's your favourite words to your kids?
What's your favourite words to your kids?
I know that we're in the midst of P2C registration, possibly the most stressful time of the year, every year. But me being me, I can't help digressing to the next topic. I realised that there are certain phrases I used daily on ds, almost without fail. They're all reprimands (if my boss does that to me, I'm be flatly demoralized ). The 3 phrases I used most commonly to communicate with ds are:
- can you don't talk so much (my way of telling him to zip up)
- late already, can you pls hurry up, usually followed by this action
- this qn is so simple, how come you don't know? (luckily ds is super confident type, so no permanent damage done I think)
So what's your favourite words to your kids? Hope they're not as negative as mine.

- why are you taking soooo long to finish your dinner?? (he's a real slow eater)
- Go and do your homework NOW!! (he likes to 'dilly dally' when it comes to doing homework)
- Aiyoh, you've learnt this before, how come you forget?? (this is especially so for Chinese spelling - he conveniently 'discards' or erases those words from his memory he had learnt for Chinese spelling once the week's spelling is over :x )
I'd probably need a tape recorder just to repeat those words over & over again almost every other day...

These are the mantras I recite to him as I am driving him to presch ...
1. Please do not put your finger in your nose
2. Please cough into a tissue paper
3. Please tell your teacher if you need to pee pee
4. Please wash your hands before and after you eat
At home:
1. Now means now
2. Faster please
3. Good job boy, well done
4. Cannot say cannot, must say I will try
5. Purposely or accidentally? (when he does something naughty)
6. Why are you being so irritating on purpose
