I know that the bond for the 4D/TOTO licence is not low. In addition, there are restrictions on the operating hours and the location which you can operate (ie.away from school). Some gave up their licence because of its long operating hours and not being to close its business on public holidays.

Most petrol kiosks are operated by the parent company nowadays.

I've seen quite a few Prima Deli franchises downscaling. I think it's due to heavy competition from other bread shops, especially in the heartlands.

Crystal Jade is a good open if you manage to secure a good location. I love their bread.

Esp their bbq pork bo-lo-pau !!

And to all aspiring biz owners, do read up more on setting up a biz. There are many of such books available in the library on the various ways to run your business eg internet-based, home-based, franchise etc. Doing business is never easy but getting started on the right track will ease your worries by half! Do make an effort to read up widely on Business management and personal financial management. You need to set aside at least 6-12 mths of operating costs to really see results. This is your hard-earned money, so do start it right!

Good Luck!
:D

URS shoes needs franchisees overseas. One Singaporean gal brought the Mondo franchise to Australia and is making loads of money. But for overseas franchisees, you need to have a local partner to register the business.
