Article on online scams today (20 Feb Sunday Times)

Postby ChiefKiasu » Sun Feb 20, 2011 12:21 pm

So farney. It was a good article, but somewhat spoilt by the last example where the reporter mentioned how a student "saved" herself from an "online scam" because she received an email asking her to update her details. Apparently she saw that the domain name of the email was:
moe.edu.sg
when she thought it should be:
moe.gov.sg

Heng arh! :!: :rotflmao:

teachers' email address are not directly so-and-so@moe.edu.sg; it is the school name.edu.sg -- example : tan-ah-kow@xxxps.edu.sg for tan ah kow from xxx primary school
