6 yr old boy fall to his death

Just read this on asiaone and it saddens me to see such a cute, lively boy fall to his death as he was left alone at home. I can associate with the parents as I've a child who is K2 this year as well.

Condolences to the family.

It serve as a reminder to all parents to ensure grilles are locked and not to leave them out of sight.

my deepest condolences to the family.

that's right, serve as a reminder to parents who might overlook the impt of locking the window grilles.

My personal observation is that some parents feel that it is not nice to have window grilles as it spoil the entire look of the house. But we always insist on window grilles for safety reasons.

Dunno when they will decide to get adventurous and we cannot watch them 24/7.

Do you ever leave your K2 kids at home alone?

I have to admit me n wife do that... although we give dd books to keep her occupied and tell her we're going out for quick errands... and double/triple confirm that she's ok before I go out.
After a few times, she'll tell me she rather stay at home alone, than go run errands with me...
:stupid:

Besides locking the window grilles, I also think that parents should not leave a 6 year boy alone at home even though they may be sleeping cos u never know.......

Deepest condolence to the family......

We've never left our K2 kids at home by themselves. Our k2 wanders everywhere in the house by herself and we don't watch her. To us, she is like a "big" girl already.

So reading this news is like a wake up call that 6 yrs old is still a vulnerable age.

this news reminds me of one accident i had when i was young (ard 6-7 yrs old)

i fell out of my house's "balcony" while standing on a chair,
which landed me in the hospital with many stitches on my forehead.

i wouldn't be alive today IF i wasn't staying in a terrace house.....

this etched in my mind forever and i always reminded myself
NEVER leave my gal alone in the house when she was young.
