Jam at East Coast Park

Postby LOLMum » Sat May 21, 2011 11:39 pm

was trying to get to east coast park seafood centre this evening but was caught in a really bad jam and quite a no. of policeman around. finally when my brother was nearly reaching the turn, he was told by the policeman to try another road much further down if we really want to get to the seafood centre. no explanation whatsoever was given wrt the terrible jam.

on our way home at about 9+ the jam was still there.

anyone knows what's happening? or is this the usual weekend jam?

That slip road is normally very jammed on weekends.

oic, but is there a need for the few policemen? :?

for a moment we thought it might be an accident (none on traffic news), fight or maybe farewell dinner for SM since it is marine parade

I think it was due to the movie screening of Shrek with the attendance of Yam Ah Mee at the event?

They had the Passion Run then the movie afterwards. That's why the unusual high traffic and the policemen. There are always policemen at almost all running events coz of road closures.

It was reported in this morning papers that a Passion Run participant suffered cardiac failure somewhere near the finishing line. Though medical assistance was administered on the spot, the ambulance was delayed sending the patient to the hospital due to the jam (according to the participant's son). The patient died.
