Parents' Selfish Acts At Schools

if you live near to popular school in / near landed estate with narrow roads, then you would appreciate why.

many of the recalcitrant parents are plain horrendous in fetching their kids to school.....stop the car, get out of the car, open the door for the kid to get out of the car, close the door, open the car boot, take out school bag, walk the kid across the road, help put the school bag on the kid, do a farewell hug and kiss, and watch the kid walk into the school out of sight, then walk slowly back to car, start the engine, and move off slowly .....no amount of honking will get these recalcitrant parents to move faster ......meanwhile the tarffic back up to one km away --- it happens every morning along King's Road, Queen's Road & Coronation Road. PV as traffic warden is definitely a critical function - as critical as the principal

I've seen that happen in other schools too. So irritating. It's like only their child matters. Why can't kids sit with their schoolbags all ready to hop out of the car the moment the car arrives at the school?

How about those who must stop their car right in the middle of the porch despite the porch being able to hold at least 3 cars. It's like their kids are not capable of walking the extra few steps to the school. In the meantime, traffic's building up behind them and spilling over on to the main road.

these idiot parents really too much. So selfish and inconsiderate, holding up the rest of the traffic behind them !!

so how does the traffic warden PV rescue the situation ? note down the car plate of these selfish parents, dun let them drive into the porch next time ?

can't NYPS Principal authorise someone stand at the gate entrance, to prevent all these crap nonsense from happening ?

of course with the presence of PVs and teachers, and sometime P & VP, the scenarios described earlier does not happen so often - mostly new parents - just so to illustrate the necessity of PV

in a memorable remark by one of the earlier P of NYPS : do your hugging and kissing at home, and because they have teachers and PV along the road, there is designated area for dropping off the kids, no need to drive exactly to the centre spot of the gate to drop the kid off. the whole stretch of drive way from Gate A to Gate B within the school compound is a drop off zone, and the whole stretch of road from Gate B to Gate C (school side) is a drop off zone

Wow, such parents are really inconsiderate! What kind of role models do they serve as for their next generation?!!

Anyway, with NYPS shifting their P1 and P2 cohort to Toh Tuck, the coronation road folks can enjoy a brief respite for the next couple of years lah. :imcool:

talking about role model, you should read my post in NY Kindergarten regarding an episode of parents pointing his middle finger with kids onboard all around

That's really unacceptable! Can the school P do something about it?

this is definitely an eye opener, literally thought it was "de-meaning" for parents to PV for such things but there is a different light to it.

What can the P do? Haul up the parent and scold him/her? It's unfortunate but ugly parents do exist and kids absorb all this like a sponge.

can our cars install video camera in such a way that ... if these lousy inconsiderate parents point a middle finger at other drivers, we will capture this selfish parent face together with his car plate number and at the same time identify this child's name and which class he comes from, then upload into Nanyang school's blog website, to shame this parent and also serve as a warning to all other parents in NYPS that they not to behave like this ?

not just upload into NYPS school blog, but also request the P during school assembly time - flash this parent photograph and his child's face onto the big overhead projector, for all students and teachers to know of such idiot parents around.

once he's been shame in public, other other NYPS parents dare not follow his footstep.

to handle this type of idiot, must deal him a severe shaming lesson. Teach him a good lesson. Then he'll stop this nonsense. When his office colleagues & boss come to know of him doing such thing as point a middle finger at other NYPS drivers, do you think he can his face at work ?
