as usual, it is incomplete and full of over-generalisation

lost respect for Reuters after they recently said something blatantly wrong about some company even though they were given the facts during the interview.

However incomplete it is to us local, it does make some arguments e.g. COE as a tax. Also, stamp duty has recently been ferocious for the second property which is about the same in Hong Kong anyway, another low tax economy. However, the column tends to downplay that Singapore tax is much lower and straightforward than say, the USA or Northern Europe. Income tax and corporate tax are lower. GST / VAT is comparable. No capital gains tax and no tax on savings. Estate duty is also lower than USA it seems.
