Maternity Insurance

Postby kelamel » Sat Apr 18, 2009 1:47 pm

Hi there,

As some of you know im in the insurance line and i found out something which i feel like kicking myself and being an agent am ashamed of myself that i miss this out big time!!So im going to share with wannabe mums

i only found out that the waiting period was just 3months :stupid: and not 12 for maternity insurance that was offered by AXA as they have special option for both mum n dad to take it up

Okay heres the plan
>/=3Months before getting pregnant, both mum and dad get a AXA smart plan. Cheap one will do

Say ur age is 30-39 - $128 per person x 2 = 256
Maternity rider - $1288 (flat rate) x 2 (both mum n dad must buy) = $2832

Total amount = $2832 per year (if your baby come out before the next renewal, you earn liaoz, but if not must pay for 2nd year Total cost $5664
which is the norm)

http://www.axa.com.sg/axa_ins_sg/index. ... nity_rider

Estimate costing
Single bed cost i found out for 3D2N :$2000
Daddy stay i think its $80 per nite extra = $160
Delivery fee : $1000 - $1200
Plus all the equipment/misc cost ard $800
Plus that injection (not very sure its name) :$600 ?
Post + pre natal expenses ; $ 500
Total cost :$5260

Benefit for normal delivery $5000
Complicated delivery benefit $12000

Dont forget i still get back my comms.....thats why they say only after you get pregnant ur fren say eh u forget to buy the maternity insurance ah than u learn much more.....and both still have a normal hospital plan....

:? I wonder too... will the insurance company pay, if after signing up and on the 4th mth, I realised I am pregnant? and 9 mths later I deliver my baby... meaning to say I only pay 1 year premium... but I am get paid $5000 for the delivery charges...

If what is said is correct, then I would say this is a good bargain for those planning to conceive... but must make sure you conceive within 2 yrs la.

you need to time it v v well as i mention
3mths waiting period

means
1st jan buy policy
1st apr can only be pregnant
baby delivered by 31st Dec

If u deliver in jan..than u have to pay 2nd year premium in Dec....

Hi all, i've been looking around for insurance on pregnancy and maternity in Singapore.

Discovered a site that released a recent article comparing different maternity insurance: http://www.bigfatpurse.com/2016/11/mate ... -necessary

Anyone has ourchased recently and have any thoughts or experience to share?
