Oh my, expect every baguette to come with an advertisement - maybe the name of the co is baked onto the top. I can see the slogans :

Roll with us !
Let us rise together !
Hard outside but soft inside.
Let us be your daily bread.
We'll DOUBLE your income.

By conventional standard she has failed (in her SMRT job) so potential employers will think twice before employing her, right? But it seems very easy for her to land another high profile job.

It set us thinking, isn't it? What's the things this big corporation bosses know that we don't know? What's the value they see in her? Are we being realistic to call for her head, or someone's head, when things under their charge go wrong? Maybe asking her to resign is not the best way to remedy the MRT issues? Maybe we are wrong??

I think in the corp world in Spore, highly valued is, connections. Hence, former ministers and those with connections to the people in high offices are much sought after. Basically, it is a case of "just get me in touch with them, I have people with the know-how. You just do the introductions."

she came from retail (Metro, DFS) and now going back to retail (sell loti)...should be correct, she had turn MRT stations into malls .... and forgot that her priority was to roll the train, not the bread dough....

so it was evident her strength is in retail

from a shareholders perspective, she had indeed added value to the growth of the Company, thats the job of the CEO isn't it?

she actually forgotten that she was running a rail / metro, not the departmental store Metro

she could up the profit only in the short term by cutting back maintenance and focus on retail .... look what happen when the massive breakdown happens ? it is going to take a lot more to pour into maintenance and replacement and the damage is done ....

will they never learn ? shareholders pay her to focus on the core business - operate the rail.

she does not need to gei kiang to "diversify" into retail.... shareholders will diversify by buying stocks of other businesses ....corp finance 101
