Condensed milk with water

Postby kittybank » Thu Aug 09, 2012 10:10 am

Just saw on C N A that VB says he is shocked tt a family feeds the children with condensed milk and water.

I grew up on that. Price of milk powder has tripled over the decade. Has our salary tripled? Even condensed milk is not cheap.

Shocking? Or rather awakening :yikes: :lightrod:

:hi5: me too! I love it as a kid - warm water with condensed milk. But it was nit as a substitute to formula milk. More like a substitue for sweets and juice.

I think he is probably coming from the perspective of nutrition, instead of raising costs?

I grew up drinking milk made from condensed milk + hot water. My mum tried to get me the better brand condensed milk and even that was hard to come by.

I remembered back then there were brands such as blue cross, lady general etc. The condensed milk was used to feed babies and adults (for the coffee)
alike.
