PM Lee: What future do you want for Singapore?

What should Singapore’s future look like?

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong offered his answer in the National Day message which was aired at 6.45pm on Wednesday evening.

He named three things in particular: the country must offer hope for the future, it must have an inclusive society and it must be a home that everyone loves.

To help achieve that vision, he announced that a new ministerial committee would be set up to conduct a broad-based review of policies. It will be chaired by Education Minister Heng Swee Keat and will include a number of younger ministers.

Hope for future: Invest more in our children's development
Inclusive society: Increase CPF contributions for PRs
Home that everyone loves: Less crowded and less condo launches
:celebrate:

Are we barking up the wrong tree? Are there serious faults with our policies? Or are there VERY SERIOUS faults with the regulations resulting from the policies and the way they are carried out?

I fully support peace n harmony among different races here in Singapore.

I also hope that foreigners who come here to live be it for short or long term, to observe and respect our feelings, culture and laws.

"Enormous" problems if Singaporeans don't procreate: Lee Kuan Yew

"If we go on like that, this place will fold up, because there'll be no original citizens left to form the majority, and we cannot have new citizens, new PRs to settle our social ethos, our social spirit, our social norms. So my message is a simple one. The answer is very difficult but the problems, if we don't find the answers, are enormous," said Mr Lee...

Ah Gong very fierce after NDP... :yikes:

Maybe not always right.
If AhGong didn't try to speed up SG progress, never try to be financial hub (high-tech/services), never emphasis on education.......we women probably will still be less educated, more willing to stay home & be housewife and have more children ..... then no more PR issues cos' nobody wants to come over. :skeptical:

Ah Gong still has my support ..... he did what he thot was the best :)

So what future I want for Singapore.....I like what Dad42 wrote:-
