Is this bottle defective?

After sterilising this bottle in a steam sterilizer, it became like this.

Is this a defect? Safe to use the bottle when it returns to its original shape?

Never seen avent bottles in such a condition before even if we drop it.... Personally, I will stop using it as I rather be safe than sorry.

At first glance, I'm just happy that whichever baby used that bottle was not being breast fed. :scared:
