377a debate -gays vs christians

Postby winchester » Tue Jan 22, 2013 10:49 am

the fight begins again.

alex au and gang pointing fingers that lawrence khong of fcbc started first. gays want 377a repealed while christians and others want it retained. fcbc did it aboveboard not like in aware, so it is fair game and gays can complain all they want as it is their right, but they should not take away the rights of those lobby that 377a is kept as law.

as a parent, quite touchy and i rather my children are not gay. and back to the argument whether being gay is nature vs nurture?

377A is either constitutional, or it is not.

If it is constitutional, one side will just have to lobby to amend the Constitution to make it not constitutional. If it is not constitutional, the other side will just have to lobby to amend the Constitution to make it constitutional. Either way, good luck to both of them.

the gays want the bigger goal - same sex marriage and repealing 377a is one of the earlier steps to that goal.

i'm glad the christians are pushing back tho. adds some balance to the argument whether we agree or not.

Lawrence khong got much credibility meh?

He supports Kong Hee's embezzlement.

And I don't think is right to classify this as a Christians vs gays thingy. is more of a political agenda of the far right christians originating from US. there are more christians that support equality than you imagine..otheriwise how will it be possible to push through gay marriage in USA?

I read somewhere... that in Japan, they 'married' via the roundabout way through adult adoption. Thereafter, the couple can share same surname, become next of kin to each other and thus become legally binded to each other this way. They can indicate each other as beneficiary for their assets and their next of kin can make important decision such as decide their medical treatment at old age on their behalf. So somewhat like in any marriage except that they didn't sign on the marriage cert

Must admit they are quite innovative!

However, is adult adoption allowed in Singapore :scratchhead:

Is gay/homsexuality an issue that bothers only the Christians?

Does the other religions approach of it? :scratchhead:

Anyway, our AGC had issued a gag order on the discussion of the gay sex law now.
